A Healthcare Marketing Agency That Knows What It Takes to Grow
$20 million to $1 billion.
That’s the growth one of our healthcare clients achieved, in just over four years, after we rebuilt their brand, clarified their message, and launched their comprehensive content and digital marketing campaign.
If you serve hospitals, health systems, healthcare providers or the patients they care for — and your marketing isn’t producing results, or delivering returns on your investment — let’s talk.
Hare Communications is a Birmingham, Alabama-based full-service advertising and marketing agency with a deep, documented track record in healthcare marketing — both B2B and B2C. We’ve served healthcare clients across the Southeast, and we’re willing to travel for the right client.
The Problem Most Healthcare Companies Have (And Don’t Realize It)
It’s not your marketing. It’s your messaging.
If you’re like a lot of healthcare companies, you’re so deep inside your products and services — your clinical protocols, your operational advantages, your regulatory expertise — that you’ve forgotten something important: Your prospective clients aren’t. They don’t exactly know what you do. They can’t articulate your value proposition to their CFO and CEO. And they certainly can’t explain why you’re a better choice than your competitors.
When that’s the case, more marketing doesn’t fix the problem. It amplifies it.
That’s where we start: We get crystal-clear on what you do, who you do it for, why it matters — and how you’re better suited to your clients’ and prospects’ needs than any competitor in your space. Every campaign we build starts with strategy. Not tactics, and not traffic reports.
For a deeper look at why this matters, read:
Healthcare Companies & Providers Don’t Need More Marketing. They Need the Right Message.
Our Approach: Clarity First. Campaign Second.
Before we launched a single campaign for ProxsysRx — the Birmingham-based hospital pharmacy services company now known as VytlOne — we did something too manu agencies skip entirely:
We conducted a very deep dive into who they were, what they did, and why their clients chose them over the alternatives available to them in the market. We interviewed their executives, their employees, their strategic partners, and key contacts in several of the health systems they serve. All of which led to the brand strategy — and resulting campaign — that supported the extraordinary growth they experienced over the next four years.
That process has a name. We call it Discovery. And it should never be optional.
01
Discovery: Understanding What Actually Drives Value
We’ll interview your leadership, your employees, your clients (current and possibly even past), and your strategic partners. We discover and define what genuinely differentiates your business. Not just the version you have in your head, but the version your clients and prospects experience. We identify what your market considers your strengths and weaknesses, and why. It’s the foundation on which we build everything else.
02
Clarification: Defining the Message That Matters
This is where the creative heavy lifting happens. Our goal with every client is to develop messaging that’s clear, differentiated, and aligned with real-world buyer concerns. Again, not language that’s important just to you — but language that matters to the people you’re trying to reach.
Here’s a simple truth we tell every client: What matters to you isn’t important unless it matters to your clients and prospects.
For ProxsysRx, our research led to a new brand line: Unlock Pharmacy’s Potential. For Better Outcomes. And Better Incomes. It’s a message that communicated exactly what they do, who they serve, and why it matters — in straightforward, compelling terms. Which meant their prospective clients understood their offering much faster.
03
Execution: Aligning Your Marketing With Strategy
Only after we’ve established clarity do we move to execution. With ProxsysRx, that started with a complete visual rebrand — new logo, new brand standards, new website. With all that in place, we developed a comprehensive content and digital campaign.
The result wasn’t just better marketing metrics. It was $1 billion in documented, measurable value for their hospital clients.

SEO & GEO: The New Frontier of Healthcare Marketing
Most healthcare marketing agencies will tell you they do SEO. Fewer understand what it actually takes to rank — and fewer still understand what’s replacing it.
We do both.
SEO Results We’ve Actually Achieved
When we launched ProxsysRx’s content campaign in October 2021, they had exactly two terms ranked in Google for their primary income stream — 340B program management. Two.
Within two months, they ranked for 50 critical keywords and phrases, with five in the Top 10.
By Q4 2025, they ranked for 926 keywords and phrases. Sixty-one at Number One. Ninety-four on Page One. One hundred twenty-nine in the Top Five. One hundred seventy-nine in the Top Ten.
One post alone generated more than 1,100 backlinks from other websites — a critical benchmark for Domain Authority, and one that compounds over time.

Below is an account Brian manages directly:
PGM Billing
PGM Billing (full name: Physicians Group Management) is a medical billing and revenue cycle management company based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, managing billing for roughly 15 different medical specialties.
“We focused on moving the needle for each specialty, and for billing-related keywords. We started with just 29 keywords in the Top 10. They now have 191, with several Number Ones and 47 Top Threes. Overall, they now have 625 ranked keywords and phrases.
“Just as importantly, they’ve enjoyed huge increases in AI positioning. As recently as December, 2025, they had nine terms in AI Overviews. By September, 2026, that had increased to 176.”
Below are two clients Brian supported while working with another agency:
Client One
Client One offers Remote Care Management for Private Medical Practices, Hospitals and Health Systems, Community Health Centers & Rural Health Clinics, and Health Insurers & Direct-To-Patient Virtual Care providers.
Brian began work with Client One during Covid. His research led the team to develop topic clusters around several key topics, starting with Remote Patient Monitoring.
At the campaign’s peak, Client One ranked Number One for that term.
“We also earned Top Five or Top Ten rankings for Remote Patient Monitoring Services, Remote Patient Monitoring Solutions, Remote Patient Monitoring Systems and Remote Patient Monitoring Software. We then built topic clusters around Annual Medicare Exam / Wellness Visit. Did very well. And finally, an umbrella topic of Chronic Care Management. We ranked Top 10 for all terms.
“At the time, the paid value of what we were generating averaged $10,000 to $15,000 a month.
“When we started with them, they had literally zero domain authority: Just ten keywords ranking for the entire site. At their peak, they were ranking for over 4,000 keywords.”
Needless to say, the company experienced huge growth, and successfully generated multiple rounds of investments.

Client Two
Client Two was a comprehensive medication management (CMM) solutions company, which according to one news souce, was “dedicated to addressing the U.S.’s $528 billion suboptimal medication management problem. Their technology ensured that prescribers had real-time, accurate current medication lists when writing new prescriptions, flagged potential drug therapy problems like therapeutic duplication and non-adherence, and generated real-time notifications for care managers when patients picked up new or potentially dangerous medications — or failed to pick up maintenance medications.”
The primary challenge Brian and his team faced was that the Keyword Difficulties were all very high. Meaning that it would be extremely tough achieving significant rankings for any keywords and phrases.
“Our three pillars were Medication Adherence, Medication Reconciliation and Medication Compliance. We moved the needle for all three, and reached Number One for Medication Adherence — as well as Top Five for Medication Management.
“At their peak, Client Two ranked for 5800 keywords, which was nearly triple what they had when we started. More importantly, they were not dominant on any of their terms before we launched our campaign.”
Client Two shut down suddenly in October, 2023 — blaming a lack of financing for its demise.

GEO: Getting Cited by AI Platforms
Here’s where most of your competitors aren’t thinking nearly far enough ahead.
GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — means creating content that AI platforms like ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude cite as authoritative source material when answering queries from your target market. It’s not enough to simply rank on Google Page One anymore. Your prospects are increasingly using AI assistants to get their information, and those assistants are pulling from a relatively small pool of content they consider authoritative and trustworthy.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
In November 2025, we asked ChatGPT: “What are the latest 340B updates impacting eligible hospitals’ specialty pharmacies?” — a query that maps directly to ProxsysRx’s most valuable prospects. ChatGPT cited seven of our posts as source materials
It goes without saying that search rankings are still important. But where people are searching is changing radically — and rapidly. Search volumes for AI and LLM are increasing every day. And if you want to be found consistently, you have to develop strategies — and content — that target both traditional (Google) searches and the AI platforms.
Here’s one way to think about GEO:
Let’s say you have a healthcare-services company with a great business model and a solid organization. You probably attend any number of relevant medical conferences. You might even have a genuinely impressive booth. But if people haven’t already seen you online and know what you do, are they even remotely as likely to talk to you as they would be if they were already familiar with you?
Now ask yourself: When your prospects ask AI assistants about your product-and-services category, does it cite your content? If you’re not sure, the answer is probably no. That’s a problem we can solve.

Where We Work
We’re based in Birmingham, Alabama. We’ve served healthcare clients across the Southeast — and as far away as Indiana, New York and New Jersey. Which is why we’re willing to travel nationally for the right client, and the right opportunity.
If you’re within a few hours of Birmingham — in markets like Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Knoxville, New Orleans, Mobile, Huntsville, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Jackson or Louisville — we’d particularly enjoy an initial conversation.
A Note About Our Agency
We’re a comparatively small shop by choice, and we’re selective about the clients we serve. What’s more, when you hire Hare Communications, you get us — senior-level thinking, strategic direction creative work and account management — not a team of juniors.
Our digital strategist has developed and implemented the kind of SEO / GEO campaigns — and generated the kind of ROI — that lots of agencies talk about, but few can validate. The results we’ve produced for ProxsysRx are not projections. They’re documented outcomes.
There’s another distinction that we think matters: Vendor vs. Partner. Many agencies act as vendors. You request work, they deliver assets, and the relationship is transactional. We operate as partners — which means we challenge assumptions, ask harder questions, and hold ourselves accountable not just for output, but for outcomes.
